PaperlessPaperless Parade / Teacher Assignments
& Back-to-School Fiesta 
Thursday, August 18th, 2016 at 4:00-7:00 pm

Online Re-Enrollment is required PRIOR to the “Paperless” Parade at MME (for more information about Online Re-Enrollment in English & Spanish, please visit http://www.djusd.net/).  Therefore, you will simply be picking up Teacher Assignments in the MPR and celebrating Back-to-School!

  • Families with last names A-L are encouraged to attend the “Paperless” Parade between 4:00pm – 5:30pm in the MPR.
  • Families with last names M-Z are encouraged to attend the “Paperless” Parade between 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the MPR.

There is no list of personal school supplies that you are requested to purchase for your individual MME student(s) for the first day of school, however, the PTA is collecting school supplies to be shared amongst all MME teachers & classrooms for this upcoming school year.  If you can, please bring the supplies assigned to your child’s grade to the Paperless Parade, and supplies will be distributed by the office to classes.

  • Kinder: crayons
  • First Grade: glue
  • Second Grade: markers
  • Third Grade: pencils
  • Fourth Grade: facial tissues
  • Fifth Grade: notebooks
  • Sixth Grade: copy paper

Back-to-School Fiesta

After collecting your Teacher Assignment and donating classroom supplies, join your classmates and their families for music and fun to celebrate a new school year at MME. This will occur at the same time as the “Paperless” Parade. Bring your own picnic dinner or buy food from the Chando’s Tacos food truck that will be on campus.  You can also enjoy our PTA-sponsored Ice Cream Sundae Bar for FREE.  This is an opportunity to relax and enjoy an evening on the quad with old and new friends.

TK/Kindergarten Meet & Greet
Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 at 12:00-1:00 pm in the B-Wingurl
All Kindergarten students – Traditional, TWBI (Two-Way Bilingual Immersion), and Transitional – and their parents are invited to campus to meet their teacher, see the classrooms, and visit with classmates. Snacks will be provided by the PTA.

CoffeeWelcome Back Coffee
Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 at 8:30 am in front of the MME Library
The PTA hosts a welcome back coffee on the first day of school after drop off. Meet in front of the MME Library to visit with other MME families and learn more about the PTA and how it benefits the school. PTA Membership forms will be available.

Back-to-School Night

This “parents only” event is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, ask questions, and learn about the academic year they have planned.

  • 6:00pm – 6:45pm:  Kinder- 3rd Grades Classroom Presentations
  • 6:45pm – 7:00pm: School-Wide All-Parent Principal Welcome in the Quad
  • 7:00pm – 7:45pm:  4th- 6th Grades Classroom Presentations
