MME PTA has a April/May Read-A-Thon!

Our read-a-thon this year will be April 20-24th, 2026

Read-A-Thons can get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. 

We’ve chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates!

How does a Read-a-Thon work?

To participate in our read-a-thon you sign up on a third party website called “read-a-thon” (PTA will email out a link close to the event time). Once you’ve added your child to the site, you can send out a link to family and friends to donate as your child keeps track of their ready minutes for that week. You can choose to have your kid earn prizes that are funded from the donation money after the read-a-thon ends. The rest of the proceeds go to the MME PTA to support our efforts at the school. 

What if my kid wants to do the fundraiser but I don’t want to sign up for a third party group?

Your child can still join in and work on their reading for the read-a-thon week. You can write a check , give cash, or pay a credit donation to PTA. But the prizes awarded are based through the third party site, so all prizes would then be up to you!
