Each year the PTA hosts a Back to School Fiesta. This gathering is meant to celebrate coming back to our school friends and community after the summer break. Each event is a little different depending on our volunteers, but we have had food trucks, music, crafts, games, prizes, MME merchandise, and PTA members talk about helping at our school.
Why should I come?
This event is a replacement of an event where kids would come to get classroom assignments. Those assignments are available now on the Parent Portal instead, but it’s still fun to go find where your classroom is, find out how to help at your school, and mentally prepare to be in a new section of the school for the year. Kids are really excited to run around and see friends, and parents can touch base and find other families with kids in the same grades and classes.
Do I need to help?
This event is intended to highlight how to help through the school year. While we always appreciate extra help, our main helpers for this event are the heads of our different PTA committees. MME is a community, and without parent volunteers and donations there are many parts of our school which would be diminished, or programs which would be completely lost. Knowing about these programs can help you make educated choices through the school year about your time and money.
