PTA Book Fair

 Fall Book Fair 2025

A HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteered and shopped at the fair; your support helps our teachers, staff and students!!! The money made from our 2025 fall book fair will be used to fund books for classrooms, the library, and students during the spring 2026 book fair. Using the profits from our spring 2025 book fair, the PTA was able to provide the following resources to the MME community during this fall book fair:

  • $1,050 in books for classroom libraries

  • $1,827 in books that went directly to low-income students and students who need more support with reading

  • $500 in books for the MME library

  • In addition, the pencil pull game raised $364 for the MME recycling program!

Thanks to everyone for supporting this very important event and helping the PTA promote literacy and a love of reading!

Your student can shop the fair cash-free with an eWallet, a digital payment option offered by Scholastic. Please watch this short video to learn more. You can set up an eWallet ahead of each scholastic book fair. (Our Spring book fair is likely to be Literati).

 what are Book Fairs?

MME PTA runs two volunteer-led book fairs each year; one during fall conference week and one during spring conference week. These book fairs require parent volunteers to set up and sell books, and the company we use (Scholastic or Literati) donates a portion of their proceeds back to our PTA.

Why do we have book fairs?

The money raised from these fairs is directly used to buy books for our school library, classroom libraries, or for students who otherwise could not buy a book at the fair. Whatever is made at a book fair in profits is saved and used to buy books for classrooms, the school library, and low income students during the following book fair. In this way the money PTA earns from hosting this fundraiser always goes right back into books and literacy during the subsequent book fair. It’s also fun fundraiser if you like to buy books anyway!

Why should I Participate?

These are a wonderful way to raise money for the school library and reading department while encouraging a love of reading in our students.  The students look forward to seeing the library transformed into the book fair theme each time and usually can’t wait to spend time at the fair during lunch and after school. Working a book fair shift is a great way to experience the fun of the book fair through the eyes of a child and meet other families from MME. Many of us have very fond memories of the excitement a book fair brings!

Is it hard to volunteer?

No! We have shifts during school hours, after school, and on weekends. Most are around 1.5 hours. Tasks include helping kids find books, organizing the shelves, running the cash register, and more.

What if we have enough books?

No one has enough books! Thin your old books and add new excitement to your bookshelf. Books are a wonderful source of joy and learning. You can buy books for your kids, yourself, AND your teachers (each teacher has a wishlist!). We hope you and your child will shop for friends and family – books make great Holiday & Birthday gifts!
