PTA School Clubs

DnD Club

PTA Form to participate in ANY PTA activity (please fill it out once a year). PTA Student Participation Form. Please bring this form directly to the DND club or take it to the MME office.

Who: Any MME kiddo grades 2nd-6th (or adult volunteer). No previous experience needed!

What you need to join: Nothing! You can bring your own dice if you want: one each of a 20 sided, 12 sided, 10 sided, 8 sided, 6 sided, and 4 sided dice for a complete set. A character sheet is provided, and there is spare dice for those who need them. Upon joining, one of the adult facilitators will help the participant create their character.

When & Where: Every other week schedule is generally followed (Sept 11, Sept 25, Oct 9th, Oct 23rd, Nov 6th, Nov 20th, ect). (Once you come to a meeting they send email updates if dates change). Currently we are meeting in Maestro Lemes’ room (F2).

Don’t worry about missing a session, all stories and encounters are made with flexibility in mind.

How: Attendees are divided into groups of 3-6 players, who will proceed through smaller encounters with influence on a wider ranging environment, led by adult volunteers. Some groups can be led by volunteer 5th or 6th graders depending on their experience and interest in leading the story for a group. There is no set story, it is developed over time based on the actions and outcomes determined by the players.

Why: We encourage imagination and deep thinking into the how and why of the participants characters actions… importantly, without a screen! We aim to have the participants learning about how they can work together utilizing their different character skills to succeed – or fail – at the tasks put in front of them. Even in failure, the story continues!

Art Club-

Permission Forms to Participate: Art Club Permission Form. Please bring this form directly to the art club.

PTA Form to participate in ANY PTA activity (please fill it out once a year for PTA activities). PTA Student Participation Form . Please bring this form directly to the Art club or take it to the MME office.

Who: Any* MME student who would like to join. *Please note for lower grade students, your adult may be asked to accompany you depending on student numbers and needs. We would LOVE extra adult volunteers to help.

What do you need to join?  Nothing is needed to join. Donated paper and art supplies are appreciated. This club is intended to be a maker’s space. Students should bring whatever art project they are working on (preferably not a messy one!). If you don’t have a current project, we will have paper, pencils, and markers to create art.

When and Where: Thursdays, we will have art club in the art room (C-1, in the first grade courtyard), every other week right after school (2:35-4:00). Next sessions October 16th, October 30th, November 13th, ect…

Younger grade students (TK-3) should arrive at around 2:35 and stay for an hour or less. 1.5 hours of independent art is a LOT for a young person! We will stagger with DnD club so that kids will be able to participate in both clubs if they want to! Our first meeting will be October 2nd. Older grade students (4-6) should arrive at around 3:05 pm and should have almost an hour of art time before club end at 4 pm.

How: One parent will be in the art room to help and supervise kids who are ready to focus in on their art pieces. This will be a self-directed space, with some assistance and occasional planned projects.

Why: Art is awesome! There is joy in having a space where artists can share their ideas, work beside each other, and focus on art creation. Art can be used for self expression, coordination, processing our emotions, and so much more.
