MUSTANG FUN RUN – ¡GRACIAS!

¡Nuestros estudiantes y personal hicieron un trabajo increíble durante la Mustang Run!

Agradecemos todo el apoyo que hemos recibido de las familias hasta ahora; ¡Casi alcanzamos nuestra meta de $20,000! Todavía hay tiempo para donar y solicitar donaciones. Si puedes, ayuda a nuestra escuela hoy donando en línea en 99Pledges o comparte el enlace con otros. Donaciones vía 99 Pledges estará abierto hasta el Viernes 11 de octubre. Las donaciones también se pueden hacer mediante cheque en la oficina principal (haz el cheque a nombre de MME PTA).

Si llegamos a los $20,000, dos clases más recibirán el gran premio de un regalo Kona Ice, para un total de 5 clases. Ya casi llegamos! Hasta el viernes hemos recaudado $19,336!!!

Los montos finales se anunciarán en el Pony Express y en la reunión mensual del PTA tan pronto como estén disponibles. Si tiene alguna pregunta o fotografías del evento, comuníquese con MMEMustangRun@gmail.com.

¡Círculo comienza esta semana!

El lunes enviaremos los libros a casa con los estudiantes de 1º a 3º grado. Si tienes un estudiante en estos grados por favor revisa la mochila de tu hijo/a para ver su paquete de Círculo, que incluye:

• un formulario de participación azul (firme y devuélvalo)

• instrucciones

• una hoja naranja de registro “El Club de 100”

• un registro de lectura (solo para 1º y 2 grado)

• un cuaderno de escritura (solo para 3º grado)

• un libro para leer en casa

¡Por cada 10 noches escolares de lectura y escritura (en el registro de lectura o en el cuaderno) su estudiante ganará un pequeño premio!

Círculo de Lectura es un programa de lectura individualizado para llevar a casa, para los estudiantes de kinder a tercer grado. El programa es guiado por maestros, financiado por MME PTA y 100% dirigido por voluntarios. La participación diaria en este programa de lectura ayudará a los estudiantes a desarrollar vocabulario y convertirse en lectores fluidos, así que por favor revisa las instrucciones y ayuda a tu estudiante a participar. ¡Tu apoyo es clave!

Recaudación de fondos de Blaze Pizza

Por favor ven y apoya a nuestra escuela haciendo tu pedido en Blaze Pizza el Viernes 11 de octubre, de 15 a 18 horas. Presenta el folleto adjunto antes de pagar si cenas en el restaurante, o usa el código de promoción 1060A si realizas un pedido en línea para llevar.  El 20% de tu pedido será donado a nuestra escuela.

Planificación de la subasta del MME: cómo puedes ayudar

¡Marca tu calendario para la subasta del MME el sábado 8 de febrero! No sólo dependemos de la subasta para recaudar aproximadamente el 70% de los fondos de nuestra PTA cada año, sino que también es un evento divertido para conocer y socializar con la comunidad de padres del MME.

Un evento de esta escala realmente requiere de un pueblo para lograrlo. Si tienes interés en obtener más información, a continuación detallamos algunas de las formas en que puedes apoyar la subasta:

• Solicitudes de donación: los negocios locales que frecuentes, las actividades juveniles en las que puedan participar tus hijos, los gimnasios a los que perteneces, etc. son oportunidades fantásticas para conseguir donaciones.

• Donaciones de subasta en vivo: cualquier conexión con paquetes grandes (tiempo compartido, boletos para eventos importantes, “trabajos divertidos” que puedan acomodar un estudiante como observante, viñedos,, paquetes de servicios profesionales (paisajismo, declaración de impuestos, etc.), servicios/bienes mensuales (clases de golf para un año, etc).

• Necesidades de diseño gráfico.

• Planificación de juegos de eventos.

• Planificación de la decoración

• Organizar proyectos de arte en clase/salidas de profesores.

Venta de disfraces de Halloween para ayudar al sexto grado

9 de octubre, de 14:00 a 15:00 horas, y 11 de octubre, de 15:30 a 16:30 horas.

Esta venta de disfraces está organizada por el Club Make A Difference de sexto grad, frente a la biblioteca de Montgomery para recaudar dinero para el baile de 5º y 6º grado y la excursión de 6º grado a Walker Creek. Si tienes disfraces o adornos viejos que ya no desees,, el equipo te agradecería que los dejes en la caja de donaciones en la oficina principal.  También esperamos que algunos voluntarios ayuden en el evento de venta.  Comunícate con Savannah (6to grado) y su mamá Shannon al hyshannon@yahoo.com si tu estudiante puede ayudar.

Más formas de apoyar a la PTA

• Compra ropa con el logo del MME o imanes para automóviles en nuestro Square Site.

• Revisa este boletín para conocer oportunidades de voluntariado

• Hazte miembro del PTA de MME 2023-2024 completando un rápido formulario de google y pagando la cuota de membresía anual de $12.

• Asiste a las reuniones mensuales de la PTA (en persona o por Zoom)

• Participa en recaudaciones de fondos de la PTA

• ¿Compras en Nugget? Si es así, puede apoyar a MME mientras compras sin costo alguno a través del Programa Community Scrip de Nugget. Retira una tarjeta Nugget Scrip en la oficina de MME. Todo lo que debes hacer es entregar tu tarjeta de vales al cajero para que la escanee y una parte de su transacción de comestibles irá directamente a la PTA de MME.

MUSTANG FUN RUN – THANK YOU!

Our students and staff did an amazing job during the Mustang Run!

We appreciate all the support we have received from families so far; we have almost made it to our goal of $20,000! There is still time to donate and solicit donations. If you are able, please assist our school today by donating online at 99Pledges or sharing the link with others. Donations via 99Pledges will be open until Friday, October 11th. Donations can also be made by check at the front office (please make checks payable to MME PTA).

If we make it to $20,000 two more classes will receive the grand prize of a Kona Ice treat, for a total of 5 classes. We are almost there! As of Sunday morning, we’ve raised $19,336!!!

Círculo Starts This Week!

Books go home with 1st – 3rd grade students on Monday.  If you have a student in grades 1 – 3, please check your student’s backpack for their Círculo packet, which includes:

• a blue permission slip (please sign and return)

• instructions

• orange “100 Club” reading chart

• a reading log (for 1st & 2nd grades) or a journal (for 3rd grade)

• a book to read at home

For every 10 school nights of reading + journal or log entries, your student will earn a small prize!

Círculo de Lectura is an individualized take-home reading program for students in K-3rd grades which is guided by teachers, funded by the MME PTA and is 100% volunteer powered.  Daily participation in this reading program will help students develop vocabulary and become fluent readers, so please review the instructions and assist your student in participating. Your support will make all the difference!

Blaze Pizza Fundraiser

Please come support our school by ordering from Blaze Pizza on Friday, October 11th, from 3-6pm. Present the attached flyer before paying if dining in, or use promo code 1060A if ordering online for carry-out or curbside pickup.  20% of your order will be donated to our school.

MME Auction Planning – How You Can Help

Mark your calendar for the MME Auction on Saturday, Feb. 8! Not only do we rely on the auction to raise about 70% of our PTA funds each year, but it’s a fun event to meet and mingle with the MME parent community.

An event of this scale truly takes a village to bring it together. If you have an interest in learning more, below are just a few of the ways you can support the auction:

• Donation Solicitations: local businesses you frequent, youth activities your kids are engaged in, gyms you belong to, etc. are all fantastic opportunities to secure donations.
• Live Auction Donations: any connections to large packages (timeshares, major event tickets, “fun jobs” that can accommodate a student shadow, wineries, professional service packages (landscaping, tax filing, etc.), monthly services/goods (golf lessons for a year, etc.)
• Graphic design needs
• Event games planning
• Decor planning
• Organizing class art projects/teacher outings

Halloween Costume Sale to Help the 6th Grade

October 9th, 2:00-3:00 pm, and October 11th, 3:30-4:30pm

This costume sale is hosted by the 6th grade Make A Difference Club in front of the Montgomery library to raise money for the 5th/6th grade dance and the 6th grade field trip to Walker Creek. If you have any old costumes or decorations you no longer want, drop them off in the donation box at the front office.  We are also hoping for some volunteers to help at the sale event.  Please contact Savannah (6th grade) and mom Shannon at hyshannon@yahoo.com if your student is able to help.

• Watch this newsletter for volunteer opportunities

• Become a member of the 2023-2024 MME PTA by filling out a quick google form and paying the $12 Annual Membership fee.

• Attend monthly PTA meetings (in person or on Zoom)

• Participate in PTA fundraisers

• Do you shop at Nugget? If so, you can support MME while you shop at no cost via Nugget’s Community Scrip Program. Pick up a Nugget Scrip card at the MME office. All you do is hand your scrip card to the cashier to scan and a portion of your grocery transaction will go directly to the MME PTA.
